PayPal payments available again
Last updated: July 9, 2026
In short
Good news: PayPal payments are accepted again on YorkHost, through our payment partner Paddle, directly from your client area.
Please note: legacy recurring PayPal subscriptions (set up before the hold) are not renewed automatically. Remember to pay your upcoming renewals manually.
All payment methods, PayPal included, are available for your payments and renewals.
What happened
Our business PayPal account was subject to a hold placed by PayPal in early July 2026. This kind of measure is decided unilaterally by PayPal and only concerned our merchant account.
During that period, it was impossible to pay via PayPal on YorkHost. Your services, however, were never affected.
Since July 9, 2026, PayPal payments are accepted again through our payment partner Paddle, directly from the client area.
Were your services affected?
No. The hold was purely administrative and only concerned the PayPal payment method. In practice:
- Your servers, VPS and hosting run normally, without interruption.
- Your active subscriptions remain active.
- Your data is not affected.
- Only legacy automatic PayPal subscriptions require action: they no longer renew automatically.
How to pay?
All our payment methods are available directly from your client area:
If you had an automatic PayPal subscription before the hold, it will not renew automatically: pay your next renewal manually, or set up a new recurring payment from your client area.

Are PayPal payments really back?
Yes. PayPal payments are accepted again through Paddle, our payment partner. You can select PayPal again at checkout in your client area.
I had a recurring payment (automatic subscription) on PayPal, will it resume?
No. Legacy recurring PayPal subscriptions set up before the hold are not renewed automatically. Pay your next renewal manually (with PayPal or any other payment method), or set up a new recurring payment from your client area.
Could my service be cut off because of this?
No, as long as your renewal is paid before the due date. Just remember to pay your next invoice manually, since the old automatic PayPal charge will no longer trigger.
What is Paddle?
Paddle is an international payment provider that now processes our PayPal payments. The payment may appear under Paddle's name on your PayPal statement: this is normal.
I have a doubt about a past PayPal payment, what should I do?
Open a ticket from your client area with the date and amount: we will check it with you.
