Becoming a server admin
On The Isle Evrima, admins are declared by their SteamID64 in Game.ini. The same file is where you set up the whitelist and enable RCON for remote administration.
Key and section names change between Evrima versions. The examples below are guidance only: follow the structure of the Game.ini generated by your server on first startup.
Finding your SteamID64
The SteamID64 is the 17-digit Steam identifier starting with 7656….
- It appears in your Steam profile URL if you have not set a custom URL (
steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656…). - Otherwise, paste your profile URL into a site such as steamid.io to get it.
Do not use your username or an ID in the STEAM_0:… format: only the SteamID64 is expected.
Adding an admin
- In the Game Panel (game.yorkhost.fr), stop the server
- Open the Files tab and edit
Game.ini(see file location) - Find the admin list, most often
AdminsSteamIDs=lines in a section such as[/Script/TheIsle.TIGameStateBase] - Add one line per admin:
AdminsSteamIDs=76561198000000001
AdminsSteamIDs=76561198000000002
- Save and start the server
Once connected, you have access to the in-game admin tools. How they are presented (admin menu, available commands) depends on the Evrima version.
Check that the SteamID64 is complete (17 digits, no spaces), that the line sits in the same section as the other admin settings in your file, and that you restarted the server after the change.
Enabling the whitelist
The whitelist restricts access to approved players: handy for a private server or an application-based community.
| Key (check it in your file) | Purpose |
|---|---|
bServerWhitelist | Enables (true) or disables (false) the whitelist |
WhitelistIDs | SteamID64 of an approved player, one line per player |
Example:
bServerWhitelist=true
WhitelistIDs=76561198000000001
WhitelistIDs=76561198000000003
Depending on the version, bServerWhitelist and the WhitelistIDs list may be in different sections of the file: put each line where the matching key already appears.
As soon as the whitelist is on, only players on the list can connect. Add your admins and players before setting bServerWhitelist to true.
Managing the server remotely with RCON
RCON lets you send commands to the server without being in game: announcements, kicks, bans, player list, saving… It is what most Discord bots and community admin tools for Evrima rely on.
- Enable RCON in
Game.ini(bRconEnabled,RconPassword,RconPort): see Ports, RCON and queue - Use a port assigned to your server as the RCON port (contact support if none is available)
- Restart the server
- Connect your RCON tool with the server IP, the RCON port and the RCON password
Evrima's RCON commands generally cover:
| Use | Example command (depending on the version and tool) |
|---|---|
| Message to all players | announce |
| List connected players | playerlist |
| Kick a player | kick |
| Ban a player | ban |
| Force a save | save |
The exact syntax and full list depend on the server version and the tool you use: refer to your RCON tool's documentation.
Evrima's RCON is not necessarily compatible with every generic RCON client. If a standard client cannot connect even though the IP, port and password are correct, try a tool built for The Isle Evrima.
RCON access gives control over the server. Choose a long, unique password, share it only with your admins, and disable RCON (bRconEnabled=false) if you do not use it.
Giving panel access to a co-admin
In-game rights (AdminsSteamIDs) are separate from Game Panel access. To let a team member restart the server or edit files, add them as a panel sub-user with the required permissions.
