Become a server admin

Conan Exiles has no admin list to fill in: the server has an admin password (AdminPassword). Any player who knows this password can get admin rights in game with the MakeMeAdmin command.

Step 1: set the admin password​

  1. Log in to your Game Panel: game.yorkhost.fr
  2. Select your server and stop it
  3. In the Files tab, open ConanSandbox/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/ServerSettings.ini
  4. Under the [ServerSettings] section, fill in (or add) the line:

  1. Save, then start the server

If your server's Startup tab offers a field for the admin password, that value is the one that applies: check it first. More details on the file in Configure ServerSettings.ini.

Not the same as the server password

Choose an AdminPassword that is different from the password used to join the server, and only share it with your co-admins. Anyone who knows it has full rights: spawning items, teleporting, banning…

Step 2: type MakeMeAdmin in game​

  1. Join the server from the game
  2. Open the game console. The default key is the one below Escape, left of 1 (` or ~ on a QWERTY keyboard, ² on an AZERTY keyboard); it can be changed in the game's key bindings
  3. Type the following command, replacing the password with yours:
MakeMeAdmin AStrongPassword

A message confirms you are now an admin. The rights are tied to your session: after disconnecting or a server restart, type MakeMeAdmin again if needed.

To leave admin mode, type:

MakeMeNormal

The admin panel​

Once you're an admin, the admin panel is available from the game's Escape menu. It lets you, among other things:

  • see the list of connected players, kick or ban them
  • change the server settings (PvP, raid hours, harvest, XP, Purges…) without editing files: the server saves them to ServerSettings.ini
  • spawn items, creatures or thralls
  • turn on handy modes for building and moderation (flying, invisibility, invincibility)

It's the easiest way to manage players and tune the server day to day.

Useful commands​

These commands are typed in the game console once you're an admin. Their names and syntax may vary between game versions, especially since Conan Exiles Enhanced: the admin panel remains the reference.

The panel console

On Conan Exiles, the Game Panel Console is mainly used to start and stop the server and follow its logs. Admin commands are typed in game, after MakeMeAdmin.

Bans​

Bans made from the admin panel are stored by the server, usually in the ConanSandbox/Saved/blacklist.txt file, as player IDs. To lift a ban manually:

  1. Stop the server
  2. Open blacklist.txt in the Files tab and delete the player's line
  3. Start the server

Giving a co-admin access to the panel​

In-game rights (AdminPassword) are separate from Game Panel access. To let a friend restart the server or edit files, add them as a panel sub-user with the required permissions.
