What is a Storage VPS?
A Storage VPS is a private virtual server designed to host large volumes of data at a low cost. Where a classic VPS relies on fast, small drives, the Storage VPS favours disk space: plans from 1 TB use high-capacity enterprise SAS drives aggregated in RAID60 with double parity, a hot spare and SSD cache on metadata. You get full root access on the Linux distribution of your choice, full KVM isolation and CPU and RAM resources sized for transfers and file management.
What is a Storage VPS used for?
The Storage VPS is the ideal companion for your infrastructure: off-site backups of your servers, sites and databases, a Nextcloud or Seafile repository to share your files, long-term archiving of documents, logs and exports, a target for restic, borg or rclone, or storage for your personal media (photos, videos, Plex or Jellyfin library). It also works very well as an NFS, Samba or SFTP server within your network, or as S3-compatible object storage with MinIO.
