Official dedicated servers have been available since update 0.11, released on March 31, 2026, and have offered a crossplay option since version 1.0. Your world no longer depends on the host's PC.

Up to 6 players

The game caps each server at 6 concurrent players. Our plans are sized for 1-2, 3-4 or 5-6 adventurers.

Version 1.0 is out

Dragonwilds version 1.0 launched on September 15, 2026 on PC and consoles. The game keeps evolving, so back up your world before every major update.

A lightweight server

The dedicated server is light on resources: roughly 2 GB of RAM as a base, plus about 1 GB per player. Hence our low prices.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds server hosting: choosing and setting up your server

Since update 0.11 on March 31, 2026, RuneScape: Dragonwilds supports official dedicated servers. Renting one from a host keeps your world online 24/7: your friends can keep playing while you're offline, without slowing down your PC or opening ports on your router.

Which plan fits your group?

Dragonwilds is a lightweight game on the server side. Resource usage mostly depends on how many players are connected, and the game caps that at 6. As a rough guide, plan for about 2 GB of RAM as a base, plus 1 GB per player.

  • Bronze 2 vCores · 4 GBSolo or duo play, always online.
  • Mithril 3 vCores · 6 GBA group of 3 to 4 adventurers.
  • Rune 4 vCores · 8 GBA full 6-player server: the best balance.
  • Dragon 6 vCores · 12 GB6 players with headroom for future updates.

You can upgrade to a bigger plan from your client area whenever your group grows.

The owner's Player ID (Owner ID)

Jagex's official guide states that the dedicated server won't start without its owner's Player ID (Owner ID). Jagex has announced that this requirement will become optional, but to be safe, set it anyway: it works in every case. You enter it once, when you set up the server from the panel. Other settings, such as the server name, can then be changed in the configuration files.

Version 1.0: consoles, updates and backups

RuneScape: Dragonwilds has left Early Access: version 1.0 launched on September 15, 2026 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Jagex Launcher), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, with crossplay between platforms. Jagex plans to keep updating the game, and updates affect the dedicated server too: to connect, your players need to run the same game version as the server.

Before every major update, create a backup of your world from the panel so you can roll back in a couple of clicks.

Wisp panel, performance and support

You manage your server from the Wisp panel: real-time console, file manager, SFTP access, backups and a task scheduler to automate restarts and backups. It runs on AMD Ryzen or Intel CPUs with NVMe storage, on a 10 Gbps network in France, with Anti-DDoS protection included.

Since update 0.11 (March 31, 2026), Dragonwilds supports official dedicated servers. A rented server runs 24/7 in a datacenter: your world stays available while you're offline, your PC isn't slowed down, there are no ports to open on your router, and you get a stable connection with Anti-DDoS protection.

The game caps each server at 6 concurrent players. Our plans are sized to your group: Bronze for 1-2 players, Mithril for 3-4 players, Rune for 5-6 players, and Dragon for 6 players with extra headroom.

As a rough guide, plan for about 2 GB as a base plus 1 GB per player. Bronze (4 GB) suits 1-2 players, Mithril (6 GB) 3-4 players and Rune (8 GB) a full 6-player server. Dragon (12 GB) keeps headroom for future game updates.

It's the Player ID of the server's owner (Owner ID). Server settings, such as the server name or the owner's Player ID, can be edited from the Wisp panel's file manager or over SFTP. Then restart the server from the panel to apply your changes.

As far as we know, the game doesn't offer official mod support at this time: your server runs the official dedicated server build. If that changes, you'll have full access to your files through the panel's file manager and SFTP.

Since version 1.0 on September 15, 2026, Dragonwilds is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, with crossplay between platforms. According to Jagex's release notes, dedicated servers now also have a crossplay option. However, Jagex hasn't detailed every condition for console players joining a dedicated server: if part of your group plays on console, contact our support team before ordering so we can check the setup together.

Yes, backups are included with every plan. You manage them from the Wisp panel: create, restore and schedule them automatically. We recommend making one before every game update.
