Satisfactory uses more and more RAM as your factory grows: expect 12 to 16 GB, or more, for a large late-game save. You can move up to a bigger plan from your client area whenever your factory outgrows it.

Server Manager

Manage your server right from the game

Satisfactory ships with a server manager built into its main menu. Four steps and your session is live, without editing a single file.

Add the server

From the main menu, open the Server Manager, click “Add Server” and enter the address and port shown in your Wisp panel.

Claim it

On first connection, name your server and set the admin password: from then on, it's yours.

Create or upload a save

Start a new session or upload your existing single-player save to the server from the save management tab.

Invite your friends

Optionally set a player password, then share the server address: your friends add it to their own Server Manager and join you.

Since update 1.1, the Satisfactory dedicated server uses two ports: 7777 over UDP and TCP for the game, and 8888 over TCP for reliable messaging. Your server's address and ports are shown in the Wisp panel.

Mods

Satisfactory mods, handled with care

Community mods live on ficsit.app and are installed with Satisfactory Mod Manager (SMM), which can also manage the mods of a dedicated server, for instance over SFTP. Every player needs the same mods, in the same versions, as the server. After a game update, some mods may stay incompatible until their authors update them, so always take a backup before installing any.

Satisfactory server hosting: which server to pick and how to run it

Renting a Satisfactory dedicated server keeps your factory online 24/7: your friends can keep building while the host is away, and nobody's PC has to run both the game and the simulation. Here is how to pick the right plan and get started.

Which plan fits your factory and your group?

In Satisfactory, RAM usage depends less on player count than on the size of your factory: every building, conveyor belt, train and drone adds to the simulation. A fresh save needs just a few gigabytes, but a large late-game factory can take 12 to 16 GB or more.

  • Pioneer 2 vCores · 8 GB1 to 4 players, early game.
  • Engineer 3 vCores · 12 GB4 to 8 players, mid-game factory.
  • Megafactory 4 vCores · 16 GB8 to 12 players or a large late-game factory.
  • Project Assembly 6 vCores · 24 GB12+ players, megafactories and mods.

These are guidelines only: you can move up to a bigger plan from your client area as your factory grows.

A native Linux dedicated server, and two ports to know

Satisfactory's official dedicated server runs natively on Linux, with no emulation layer. Because the simulation relies mostly on one main core, CPU clock speed matters more than core count: our servers run on AMD Ryzen or Intel CPUs with NVMe storage for fast saves.

Since update 1.1, the server uses port 7777 (UDP and TCP) and port 8888 (TCP). The player limit is 4 by default and can be raised in the server configuration.

Server Manager, settings and mods

Most things are handled from the in-game Server Manager: claiming the server, admin and player passwords, creating sessions, uploading your single-player save and autosave options.

For mods, Satisfactory Mod Manager and ficsit.app let you install them on both the server and the clients. Every player must run the same versions, and a game update can temporarily break a mod.

Wisp panel, backups and support

On top of the in-game tools, the Wisp panel gives you a real-time console, a file manager, SFTP access to grab your .sav files, backups and a task scheduler to automate restarts and backups.

FAQ

FAQ - Satisfactory servers

Answers to the most common questions about our Satisfactory servers.

It all depends on the size of your factory. Early on, 8 GB (Pioneer plan) is plenty. Go for 12 GB (Engineer) for a shared mid-game factory, 16 GB (Megafactory) for a large late-game save and 24 GB (Project Assembly) for megafactories or a modded game. RAM usage climbs with the number of buildings, belts and vehicles.

The dedicated server allows 4 players by default. You can raise that limit with the MaxPlayers setting in the server's Game.ini file, editable from the Wisp panel file manager. In practice, beyond 8 players, choose a plan with more RAM, especially on a big factory.

Add your server in the in-game Server Manager, then claim it on first connection by giving it a name and an admin password. From the Server Manager you can then manage sessions, the player password, autosaves and other settings. More advanced options are edited in the configuration files from the Wisp panel.

Yes. In the Server Manager, the save management tab lets you upload a save from your PC to the server and load it. You can also drop the .sav file into the server's save folder over SFTP or through the Wisp panel file manager.

Since update 1.1, the dedicated server uses two ports: 7777 over UDP and TCP for the game, and 8888 over TCP for reliable messaging. Without the second port, connections fail. Your server's address and ports are shown in the Wisp panel.

Yes, with care. Mods are available on ficsit.app and installed with Satisfactory Mod Manager (SMM), which can also deploy them to a dedicated server, for instance over SFTP. Every player needs the same mods in the same versions as the server. After a game update, some mods may be temporarily incompatible, so take a backup before installing anything.

Yes, the PC versions of Satisfactory on Steam and the Epic Games Store can join the same dedicated server. For any other platform, please contact our support before ordering so we can check compatibility.

The game creates autosaves of your session, and the Wisp panel also lets you create, restore and schedule server backups. You can download your .sav files over SFTP as well. We recommend taking a backup before every game update or mod install.

Yes, your Satisfactory server is deployed automatically within minutes of payment. All that's left is to add it in the in-game Server Manager and claim it.
